Forest Fires in Québec and Canada
Québec City, June 8, 2023 – Concerned for the well-being and safety of its insured members who have been affected by several disasters in recent weeks and supported by its 16 mutual companies and its Federation, Promutuel Insurance has decided to donate $25,000 to the Canadian Red Cross General Fund. The money will support the Red Cross in its important mission of providing immediate relief to the victims of the disaster and, in particular, the communities affected by the forest fires currently raging in several regions of Québec and Canada.
In keeping with its mutualist values, Promutuel Insurance is committed to joining the solidarity movement to help communities affected by the disaster.
“We are shocked at the devastation caused by the wildfires and the impact on communities throughout Canada. Our thoughts are with these communities and the firefighters who work tirelessly to spare them from disaster,” said Geneviève Fortier, CEO of Promutuel Insurance.
Promutuel Insurance also reminds its insured members to follow instructions from SOPFEU and their municipality in the event of an evacuation. The Group’s 16 mutual insurance associations have teams standing by to answer questions from insured members regarding coverage or claims. For more details, contact us.
Promutuel Insurance also encourages its staff and the general public to show their generosity and give to the Red Cross General Fund at www.redcross.ca or by calling 1-800-418-1111.
