Élise Poulin Senior Vice-President – Legal and Corporate Affairs Corporate Secretary

Sometimes you can describe a person with just one word. For Élise Poulin, that word is “growth.”

Élise is a results-driven dynamo. Her ability to put everything on track to achieve goals, her oversight of Promutuel Insurance’s legal affairs, and the sound governance practices she has instilled have created an environment conducive to meeting the organization’s growth and performance targets and have set a clear course in corporate matters.

As Senior Vice-President – Legal and Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary, Élise takes every opportunity to help her teams flourish. By growing talent—not only in the organizational structure but also in terms of skills and expertise—she unites her team around a common goal: moving Promutuel Insurance forward.

Élise joined the insurance industry in 2013 after a successful career in commercial law. She headed legal and compliance departments and served as corporate secretary for one of Québec’s biggest mutual insurance firms.

Leveraging her remarkable skills, she merged a damage insurance company with a life and health insurance company, a first in Québec. Élise also set up a legal department in Ontario, negotiated and completed acquisitions, managed compliance, and represented insurers’ rights before regulators and other provincial bodies. In addition, she handled the legal component of the consolidation of a leading Québec insurer with another Québec insurer, on equal footing, to form a single organization—another first in Québec!

A graduate of the Faculty of Law at Université Laval, Élise Poulin uses her sophisticated expertise to help Promutuel Insurance grow while maintaining its high standards of compliance and governance.

She also brings her expertise to the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Québec as a member of its board of directors.
