27 000$ donation to school École La Perdriolle
Promutuel Insurance Horizon Ouest was on hand for the year-end student show at La Perdriolle de L’Île-Perrot—1 of 3 schools we proudly sponsored as part of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie 2022—to donate $27,000 for the schoolyard improvement project.
The mood was festive as representatives and cyclists were welcomed by school management, parents, and students. “It’s an honour to take part in these year-end celebrations and help out in our own way, so that children at the school can play and learn in an environment that’s better adapted to their needs,” said Isabelle Salvas, General Manager of Promutuel Insurance Horizon Ouest.
The educational and community-based improvement project involves building a wheelchair-accessible path through the many trees in the schoolyard, a synthetic turf soccer field, and a passive solar greenhouse built in a recycled shipping container. “We want to give our students the opportunity to garden, learn, and thrive in a healthy, safe, and environmentally friendly environment. We would also like to foster intergenerational connection and have the experience be shared by people of all ages and cultures in order to preserve this wonderful legacy for future generations,” added Marie-Claire Gosselin, Principal of École La Perdriolle.
“This is exactly why I’m proud to be personally involved in the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie every year: for the chance to act on our mutual values and make projects like this one happen. The children here will get to experience healthy lifestyles and flourish in an environment tailored to their needs,” added Luc Grégoire, General Manager of Promutuel Insurance Deux-Montagnes and a member of the Promutuel Insurance team for the 1,000 km challenge.
The Promutuel Insurance team raised a total of more than $53,000 during the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie thanks to the participation of 5 members of our team in the 1,000 km challenge and more than 40 employees in the 135 km loop. The money will be donated to the 3 sponsored schools.
