Québec has several themed routes that make for great motorcycle trips. Tourism Québec has mapped out over 50 routes through various regions of Québec. To help you get your bearings, we’ve picked out the most popular food-themed routes as chosen by motorcyclists. Here they are!

The Cheese Route

Cheese making is big business in Québec, so there’s not just one cheese route—you can travel all over the province and find artisanal cheese makers and semi-industrial producers. Nonethess, we’ve mapped out an itinerary that not only offers plenty of great tasting opportunities, but some downright spectacular scenery too. The Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean/Charlevoix cheese route starts in Baie St-Paul and includes stops at 16 cheese makers, some of which have won awards for their outstanding products. There’s plenty of cheeses for every taste along this route!

The Wine Route

The Eastern Townships have so many vineyards that you can visit 21 producers in the space of 140 km. Discover a great selection of wines, ciders, and organic products against the beautiful backdrop of the Eastern Townships. During your trip, we recommend you stop at vignoble de l’Orpailleur, a wine industry pioneer. Keep in mind that old saying, “everything in moderation,” and remember not to drink and drive!

The Gourmet Gaspé

This is a must for motorcyclists looking for spectacular views and fresh seafood. The fine food tour of the Gaspé isn’t just just about seafood and fish—there are maple products, chocolate, honey, and microbrews too. The route is a flavour-filled tour of numerous local delicacies. And it’s one of the most well-organized and comprehensive ones out there. Accommodation is easy to find and there’s no shortage of options.

Île d’Orléans

If you’re looking for a motorcycle day trip, you can’t beat Île d’Orléans! The island boasts a chocolate factory, cider mill, vineyard, livestock farms, bakeries, blackcurrant products, and numerous vegetable farms. Many island restaurants serve meals made with local products. It’s a popular route with tourists in the summer, so drive slowly and be respectful. Locals will appreciate it if you keep noise down!
